Melton Presbyterian Church | What To Expect

What to Expect

You may have gone to church all your life, stopped when you were young or may have never gone at all. At Melton Presbyterian we warmly welcome you no matter what church background, race or age you are. All are welcome to come along to hear and celebrate the good news of Jesus.

1. What does the Sunday morning worship service look like?

Our gathering on Sunday morning is a special time when our church family meet to encourage one another as we worship God together.

During this time, we hear what God has to say to us as the bible is read and taught. We speak to him in prayer, and praise him through singing both modern songs and classic hymns. It is always a time to be encouraged and challenged.

Once a month we celebrate the Lord’s Supper (also known as Communion) to remember Jesus’ gracious death on our behalf.

We begin at 10am and finish by enjoying morning tea and a chat at about 11:30am.

2. What should I wear?

There is no dress code, so come along as you feel comfortable. Most people dress smart casual, but anything is fine.

3. What should I bring?

There is no need to bring anything. Everything you will need is provided. But you are welcome to bring your own bible if you would like.

In the winter months our hall can get a little chilly so make sure you have some appropriate clothing (e.g. Jumpers, long pants).

Be assured that guests and newcomers are under no obligation to give financially to the church.

4. What do I have to do?

When you attend the Sunday worship service you are welcome to participate as you feel comfortable. If you would like, you can just come in, sit and watch what we do.

5. What do you want from me?

We don't want anything from you, but we would like to share what we have with you. It would be great if you could stick around for morning tea after the service. We would love to have a chat with you to get to know you and to help you get to know us better. But feel free to leave whenever you need.

6. What if I have questions?

Feel free to contact the minister via the Contact Details section to ask any questions that you may have. We would love to help you out with any query you may have.
